Legendary soprano Victoria de los Angeles in arguably her finest performance as the Countess in The Marriage of Figaro, in a 1964 performance from the Teatro Colón. The opera is led by the eminent maestro István Kertész (1929-1973), one of the most highly regarded Mozart conductors of his era. The cast also features the magnificent Christa Ludwig (b. 1928) as Cherubino and Walter Berry (1929-2000) as Figaro, singers who were world-renowned for their interpretations of those roles. Susanna is portrayed by the charming lyric soprano Renate Holm (b. 1931), and the Count is interpreted with authority and nuance by Renato Cesari (1916-1992), an Argentine baritone who enjoyed a distinguished career centered in Buenos Aires. Three-disc set includes bonus tracks featuring Victoria de los Angeles in arias from Le Nozze di Figaro, Ernani, La Bohème, Mefistofele, Manon, and La Vida Breve.
